The Rebound of Street Life in Monterrey

Monterrey is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico in recent years. The influx of capital has broughtrapid development as well as many "urban diseases". The people of Monterrey Mexico are growing impatient with their constant traffic, aggressive car culture and persistent risk as pedestrians. At the same time, theinconvenience of public transit and especially the first mile/last mile of getting to and from public transit discourages many commuters from using mass transit at all.

The creation of an integrated micro-mobility system will become a mediation of the existing transportation system and a catalyst for the neighborhood’s growth. The public facilities and landmarks will be linked through a choreographed network and the street becomes the vessel where local culture and nature are intertwined to enrich the visitors’ experience and residents’ daily routine.
